A beautiful exhibit on the first floor showcases the life and great talents of Cole Porter. A composer and songwriter, Cole Porter wrote over 1,500 songs for Broadway productions, movies, and television. Some of his great songs include “Night and Day”, Anything Goes” and “Don’t Fence Me In”. He is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana.
Learn about some of the earliest residents of Miami County and other woodland tribes.
This impressive exhibit includes over 180 vintage guns, swords, and pistols.
The model airplanes hanging overhead were built by Buford Gross. The first one as you come in the door is a Write Brothers’ Flyer. The other model is a French Demozel. Both planes are built to a 1/6 scale.
On our second floor, walk the brick streets of downtown Peru. Explore the turn of the century shops, a one-room school house, a veterinarian clinic, a beauty parlor, a chapel, and so much more.
The “Circus Heritage” Exhibit on our third floor includes; model circus wagons, side panels from circus wagons, Charlie the elephant’s skull, original Robert Weaver paintings, vintage circus attire, and posters. Miami County has an amazing circus history.
